Door Supervisor refresher training is the current training requirement for existing Door Supervisor licence holders who want to renew their SIA licence. It covers specified current knowledge and practical areas, including terror threat awareness, searching, vulnerability and physical intervention. It also includes relevant knowledge and practical assessments.

An SIA DS refresher course is another way of describing the current Door Supervisor refresher training required for licence renewal. The formal qualification is the Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Refresher). It is intended for existing Door Supervisor licence holders preparing for renewal.

SIA Top-Up Training refers to the earlier renewal training introduced when licence-linked qualifications changed. No. Completing Door Supervisor refresher course and obtaining the relevant qualification does not automatically renew your SIA licence. The qualification is part of the renewal requirements, while the SIA separately manages the licence application and renewal process. You must complete the appropriate SIA application process after meeting the relevant training requirements.

First, check your current SIA renewal requirements. Complete the required refresher qualification and make sure your first aid and other required evidence meet the current criteria. You then follow the SIA's application and renewal process. The exact application requirements can change, so check the latest official SIA guidance before submitting your application.

After successfully completing the relevant Door Supervisor refresher course and assessments, you receive the applicable qualification through the qualification process. You then continue with the SIA licence renewal process. Course completion does not itself renew the licence, so you must still complete the appropriate SIA application requirements.
